Travel Prep: Getting Ready for Your Journey
To ensure your experience with Beloved Retreats is as soulful and stress-free as possible, we’ve compiled this essential checklist for our international travelers. We are always guests when we travel and make a point to give back to communities, and to the health of the planet / environment as much as possible. Have a check up with your doctor before leaving town and be sure to pack any necessary medications.
Document Protection
Passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond our return date.
The “Safety Double”: Make two high-quality photocopies of your passport photo page. Keep one in your checked luggage and leave one with a trusted friend or family member at home.
Digital Backup: Take a photo of your passport, visa (if required), and travel insurance policy and save them to a secure cloud folder (Google Drive/iCloud) for easy access from any device.
Health & Wellness
Vaccinations: We recommend being up-to-date on all routine vaccinations. For specific international destinations, check the CDC website or consult a travel clinic at least 8 weeks prior to departure.
Personal Pharmacy: While we provide holistic support, please bring an adequate supply of your personal prescriptions in their original bottles, along with a small “natural medicine” kit (essential oils, electrolytes, ginger for travel, etc.).
Flight & Ground Logistics
The 90-Day Rule: We strongly recommend waiting to book your non-refundable airfare until the 90-day confirmation window has passed. If you choose to book earlier, please ensure you have “Cancel for Any Reason” travel insurance.
Arrival Window: We will provide specific “Arrival and Departure” windows for your destination. If you arrive outside these times, we can help coordinate a trusted local driver at your own expense.
Why We Require Travel Insurance
Your retreat is an investment in your well-being. Travel insurance isn’t just for trip cancellations; it is your safety net for:
Medical Emergencies: Local clinics abroad often require upfront payment. Insurance ensures you are covered.
Baggage Loss: If the airline loses your yoga gear or essentials, insurance helps you replace them quickly.
Trip Interruption: If an emergency at home forces you to leave the retreat early, insurance can recoup those lost days.
Pro-Tip: Check out Allianz Global Assistance or World Nomads for comprehensive plans that are favorite among the yoga and retreat community.
