Our Sacred Journey of 12 nights:

2 nights Cairo, 2 nights Abydos, 2 nights Luxor, 4 nights Private Sailboat on the Nile, 1 night Aswan, 1 night Cairo

12 days and 11 nights in the mystical and magical land of the pyramids. This is a trip of a lifetime! In addition to the immaculately curated itinerary below, we will enjoy Yoga & Meditation practice guided by Jaina, and Philosophy-Movement workshops with Uschi.

Experience Traditional Hatha and Raja Yoga within the majestic landscape and backdrops of perhaps the most mysterious and significant megalithic structure in the world. Our yoga practices will be woven with the beautiful mythology and histories of ancient Egypt. All levels of Yoga experience welcome.

Accommodations

12 nights of accommodations:

• 3 nights at Noya By Dhara Hotels in Cairo or  similar, including breakfast.
• 2 nights at House of Life in Abydos, including breakfast.
• 4 nights on a full-board basis on a Luxury Dahabiya Nile cruise.
• 2 nights at Pavillon Winter Hotel in Luxor or  similar, including breakfast.· 
• 1 night at Benben Hotel in Aswan or  similar, including breakfast.

Transportation

Ground Transportation: All transfers and sightseeing tours will be conducted in a modern, air-conditioned bus. 

Individual Arrival Transfer: A private van or car will be provided for individual transfers from Cairo Airport to the hotel, depending on the number of arriving passengers.·  

Domestic Flight: Economy class flight ticket from Aswan to Cairo.

International flight info: You” want to book your tickets to fly into and out of Cairo.

·   Meet & Assist: Professional meet and assist services upon arrival in Cairo (for both domestic and international flights) and in Aswan.

·   Professional Guides: The group will be accompanied by a dedicated English-speaking guide and a tour leader throughout the trip.

.  Spirituality: Connecting to the sacred throughout the retreat with Yoga Asana, Meditation, Ceremony, Sound, & Dance with Uschi and Jaina. 

·   Sightseeing: All scheduled sightseeing activities as per the itinerary, including necessary government permissions.

·   Meals: as mentioned in the itinerary.

·   Exclusive Access: One  private access to the Great Pyramids, where we will have the entire area to ourselves. Throughout our pilgrimage, Unknown Egypt Travel will provide uninterrupted  access for us to chapels, shrines, and sacred sites so we have time to soak in the energy of these holy spaces. 

·   Beverages: Unlimited bottled water will be provided during all tours and transfers.

·   Permissions: All necessary permissions and permits for the program are included.

Meals

12 Breakfasts, 5 Dinners and 9 lunches

Allow USD 300-390 for meals not included. This is a great opportunity to cruise around town and find restaurants and shops of the beaten path in smaller groups.

“Many of you know I’ve had a lifelong connection to Egypt since meeting many of the old Theosophists in my childhood. They shared stories of their travels to Egypt in the 1920’s and 30’s, and sparked my fascination and connection to this culture so many moons ago.  My heart and soul connection to the Goddesses and Gods of this ancient civilization is what I look forward to sharing with you during the journey, as well as some of the stories of the Nubian priestesses who were part of the royal court, acting as healers and mystics.  The entire journey is hosted by a company Jaina has worked with in other countries, meaning we can relax and enjoy all of the highlights of this itinerary without having to manage any details. I’ll be leading a few workshops throughout the week, and can’t wait to share my love for this ancient civilization.”

Important information :

1. Three months before the retreat, we will do one monthly Zoom session to prepare the you for the retreat and the ancient world, as well as to familiarize them with the spirit of the group.
2. We recommend tipping $180 per person for local service, bellman, boat crew (16 people per boat), and drivers. We will collect this amount on the first day so that our guide can handle all the tipping throughout the tour.
3. Please keep in mind that the domestic flight allows only one piece of luggage and that any additional luggage must be paid for separately.
4. You will be given a headset to use throughout the tour as well as a yoga mat.
5. If dinner is not included, our guides will take us to a local restaurant where you can pay on their own.

Day 0 / Cairo

Arrival & Khan El Khalili market of Old Cairo Night Market

Arrival in Cairo

Arrive at any time. Arrival transfer included.

Our guide’s team will pick you up at Cairo airport, and offer their white glove service, escorting you all the way through arrival. A representative will meet and assist you with collecting your luggage and obtaining your tourist visa (USD $25, not included); they will then transfer you by A/C vehicle to your 5-star accommodation in Giza. Once you have been checked in to your room, we suggest you rest and acclimate. Meet up for an evening out in the Khan El Khalili market of Old Cairo, the beautiful markets and bazaars. 

**Flights should be timed to arrive in Cairo earlier in the day, so you can participate in the evening itinerary. If a late night arrival is preferable, we can arrange an interim room for you at additional cost.

Day 1 / Cairo

Welcome Dinner

 Initiation in The Great Pyramid

Yoga practice in the garden. Breakfast in our hotel. Meet up for our Opening ceremony, connecting as a group, and receiving the overview of information. Lunch on your own (the hotel has several options). Shopping for traditional Egyptian dress. Meet in the hotel lobby to depart for the pyramids. Initiation ritual in The Great Pyramid. Silence & Centering. We will have the entire Pyramid to ourselves; we will begin with our opening circle and be able to explore. Welcome Dinner in Giza with a fabulous view. Return to the hotel, Goodnight. A welcome dinner is included.

Day 2 / Abydos

Departure for Abydos

Early Breakfast box, and coffee in the lobby. Depart by luxury bus for Abydos, driving through the desert. We will connect with the land on our drive, soaking in the landscape, and honing our intentions. Lunch upon Arrival in Abydos, check in at our hotel. Intention circle & movement practice. Dinner on your own (The hotel has several options). Goodnight.

Day 3 / Abydos

Receptivity and Light-Blessings of Osiris

Morning Yoga. Breakfast in the hotel. Guided tour of the Temple of Osiris at Abydos, connecting in the sacred shrines with sound and ritual. Lunch. Dinner on your own..

Day 4 / Dendara & Luxor

Soul Activation with Hathor, The Great Lady

Breakfast at 6am. Bus drive from Abydos to Dendara 1.5hrs. Connecting at the Isis Chapel, and Sacred Chambers of Dendara. Rhythm of The Goddess, Kundalini Rising. Snacks before our departure. Arrive at Luxor and check into our hotel. Late lunch upon arrival. Evening Yoga. Dinner on your own (our hotel has several options).

Day 5 / Luxor

Sekhmet: Healing & Rage, The Lion Goddess

Optional Balloon ride in early morning. Meet back at the hotel for Breakfast. Visit Temple of Karnak with special time in the chapel of Goddess Sekhmet. Shopping opportunity for gold & silver workshop. Return to the hotel, lunch on your own. Afternoon Yoga. Evening visit to Luxor temple, guided tour of grounds and free time to explore the temple & avenue of The Sphinxes.

Day 6 / Luxor

Board our private Sailboat Dahabeya

Morning Yoga. Breakfast. Hotel check out. Group meets up at the Hatshepsut’s Temple, tour of the celebration temple & grounds.  Bus ride to board our private sailboat Dahabeya. Lunch & Dinner on the boat.

 *Optional West bank visit to Valley of The Kings

Day 7 / Sailboat

Edfu Temple

Morning Yoga session, Breakfast. Boat anchors and we visit Edfu temple. Entering the Body of Horus. Guided tour of the monument. Lunch on our boat. Evening dinner on an island in the center of the Nile river, with traditional Nubian music, dancing. *Egyptian dress for this evening

Day 8 / Sailboat
Bisau Village

Visiting Bisau village and the local community Rest and integration day: Yoga, dance, meditation and integration circle

Day 9 / Sailboat

Kom Ombo Temple

Yoga session, Breakfast. Boat anchors and we visit Kom Ombo Temple, Synergy of Polarity. Kom Ombo is a healing temple, carry your talismans and intentions with you. Visiting the museum, where we will see mummified crocodiles, ancient carvings, and more. Lunch and Dinner buffet are provided on our boat.

Day 10 / Philae

Philae Blessings of Isis

Philae Blessings of Mother Isis, She of 1000 Names. Morning yoga. Breakfast. Check out of our sailboat and head to Philae Temple and visit the ancient location of the Island, Lunch at the Nubain Restaurant with an overview at Isis temple, Exploring Elphantine island and the Nubian Village, Zikr Sufi music at our hotel to close the evening. Dinner is not included

Day 11 / Cairo

Giza Plateau & Sphinx

Fly back to Cairo. Giza plateau and Sphinx for final ceremony. Optional visit to The Grand Egyptian Museum. Final farewell dinner included

Transfer home

Depart at any time.

Please note that check-out time from the hotel is normally mid-morning, but luggage storage facilities are available. We are able to organize extra post-trip accommodation if you wish to extend your stay for a few more days.
